Utilizing Veteran 好处

If you are receiving benefits under Ch.30或Ch.1606, you must verify your enrollment each month with the VA via the Web Automated Veteran’s Enrollment (WAVE) system. 好处 will be sent directly to you, either via paper check or direct deposit. You are then responsible for transferring any of these payments to University of Bridgeport.

• If you are receiving benefits under Ch. 31 Vocational Rehabilitation and 就业 (VR&E), provide your VA Form 28-1905 to University of Bridgeport’s VA Certifying Official/ Student Financial Services, located on the Garden Level of Wahlstrom 图书馆, 公园大道126号.
• As part of the program, the VA covers the cost of necessary tuition, 书租赁, 费用, and required supplies.

In accordance with Title 38 US Code 3679 subsection (e), this school adopts the following additional provisions for any students using U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Post 9/11 G.I. 比尔®(Ch. 33) or Vocational Rehabilitation and 就业 (Ch. 31) benefits, while payment to the institution is pending from the VA. 这所学校 不会:

• Prevent the students enrollment;
• Assess a late penalty fee to;
• Require student secure alternative or additional funding;
• Deny their access to any resources (access to classes, 库, or other institutional facilities) available to other students who have satisfied their tuition and fee bills to the institution.

However, to qualify for this provision, such students may be required to:

• Provide Chapter 33 Certificate of Eligibility (or its equivalent) or for Chapter 31, VA VR&E’s contract with the school on VA Form 28-1905 by the first day of class.
  • Note: Chapter 33 students can register at the VA Regional Office to use E-好处 to get the equivalent of a Chapter 33 Certificate of Eligibility. Chapter 31 student cannot get a completed VA Form 28-1905 (or any equivalent) before the VA VR&E case-manager issues it to the school.
• Provide written request to be certified;
• Provide additional information needed to properly certify the enrollment as described in other institutional policies

Qualifying benefits go directly to the student from the VA.

University of Bridgeport is a proud participant in the Yellow Ribbon Program, a provision of the Post 9/11 Veterans Educational Assistance Improvements Act of 2010. To qualify, you must be 100% eligible for the Post 9/11 GA Bill. Once you exhaust your 9/11 benefits, the University will match the Veterans Affairs benefits.

• If you are receiving benefits under Ch. 33 (the Post-9/11 GI Bill®), you do not need to take any additional action to be certified. Tuition and 费用 payments will be sent directly to University of Bridgeport on your behalf; all other stipends and payments (e.g. housing) will be sent to you.
